Description: This requisition is for prospective Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Engineer candidates and is contingent upon LCU 2000 SLEP contract award. The LCU 2000 SLEP team seeks Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Engineers to develop a LCC estimate by researching and analyzing OEM supplier data, populating input data, executing the LCC model, analyzing the results, and presenting the LCC estimate to program management and customer personnel. The LCC Engineers should have knowledge of LCC concepts, analysis, and models. The LCC Engineers will perform a LCC analysis by estimating costs associated with the engineering design, equipment procurement, vessel operation, and logistical support (logistics footprint) required for the 10-year life extension and will populate a LCC model. The LCC Engineers are required to interface with OEMs, Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, and Program Management in order to perform the cost analysis and to populate the LCC model. The LCC Engineer must demonstrate accurate and concise communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people and engineering disciplines. The LCC Engineer positions will be based in either San Diego, Fullerton, or El Segundo California.
Requirements: • Four to six (4-6) years’ experience using LCC models for developing LCC estimates • Within the past five (5) years, developed cost estimates for at least one of the phases of a product’s life cycle: development, production, or Operations & Support (O&S) • Ability to utilize acquisition costs, fielding plans, operational usage data, reliability data, O&S resource data in developing cost estimates • Strong written and oral presentation skills to communicate affordability strategies, results, and opportunities with IPTs and Program. Potential of some efforts to be presented to leadership and external customers • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
