PERFORMANCE-BASED LOGISTICS DOCTORAL DISSERTATION ADDED TO SOLE'S TECHNICAL LIBRARY. - klip izle, film izle, mp3 dinle- - SOLE is pleased to congratulate Dr. Sang-Hyun Kim, the Society's 2006 Doctoral Dissertation Award winner, on the successful defense of his dissertation Performance-Based Logistics: Incentive Contracting in the Aftermarket.

klip izle, film izle, mp3 dinle - In his dissertation Dr. Kim who recently received his Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (1) identified managerial issues arising from the practice of PBL, (2) established a theoretical framework to study those issues and conduct in-depth analysis, and (3) bring forth insights that aid managerial decisions and make policy recommendations. The dissertation studied three major issues that practitioners in the aerospace and defense industry are facing today, presenting three analyses: (1) a multitask principal-agent model to support resource allocation and use it to analyze commonly observed contracts; (2) a comparison of the inefficiencies arising under the traditional (pre-PBL or material contract) and the PBL contract, and their respective impacts on motivating the supplier to improve product reliability; and (3) an investigation of how the infrequent nature of product failures impact the efficiency of PBL contracting. The insights and ideas generated from Dr. Kim's research have been communicated to representatives in the aerospace and defense industry, and according to Dr. Kim there are encouraging signs that they have provided an academic foundation on which managers can exchange their views.

Dr. Kim will join the faculty of the Yale School of Management as an assistant professor of operations management
